Projects
Polio / End Polio
On a sunny afternoon on 29 of September 1979, then-RI President James L. Bomar Jr. put the first drops of vaccine into a child's mouth as volunteers administered drops of the lifesaving Sabin polio vaccine to about 100 children in the Manila barrio of Guadalupe Viejo.
This gave rise to Rotary’s PolioPlus programme in 1985. Rotarians have helped since immunize more than 2 billion children against polio in 122 countries.
Our very own RID Paing Hechanova was one of the key implementors of the Polio PLUS campaign.
WASH
A self sustainable project of fountains with cold, potable drinking water.
Rotary in action: 3,000 school children enjoy now potable drinking water.
Alpabasa
“Equip and enable teachers with the program, know-how, and materials to help grow each of their children into fluent, eager, and confident readers in Filipino.”
Alpabasa’s mission is grounded on the belief that in order to grow readers, one must first equip their teachers.
